Brent Bukowski studied and performed music and designed furniture before beginning a self-study of the visual arts in 1995.  Since 2000, he has created three bodies of work: Invasive Species (2000-01), an installation in metal, glass, wood and seed that illustrates the mass extinction of species and the evolution of our natural environments. With a running length of up to 160 feet, this multi-layered relief snaked its way around the walls of a given space--- suggesting the imagery of global movement and the mingling of eco-systems.  Circle(s), Straight Line(s) and Intersection(s) (2002- ), an on-going experimental series resulting in an array of independent works relating to the cause and effect of current events and trends.
A Piece of the Pie (2005- ), a series of 20 sculptures in found metal and glass that examines the expansion of world consumption in a form that employs opposing pie charts in which current statistics pertaining to specific social, economic and environmental indicators are compared to those of up to 50 years ago.

Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan (1968) he has lived in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia since 1992--- where he and his partner Arin Fay have designed and constructed their house and gardens and care for their two children.
